About

What is Rush Select?

More than an ODP

Why Rush Select?

Rush Select aims to support and encourage our very best players. The program is built to give individual attention to our top athletes so we can help them achieve their goals of becoming professional athletes or playing at the highest collegiate level possible. Each year Rush Select awards 1 boy and 1 girl (sometimes more) full-ride scholarships to a Rush Academy somewhere in the world to help keep developing their game and education.

Our top male players will also have the opportunity to get selected for an all-expense-paid trip to the Capelli Cup in Denmark, where they will have the chance to be scouted by professional clubs and get direct European exposure. Our top female players will have the opportunity to receive an all-expense-paid trail to AS Monaco, with the potential to play overseas professionally with this club. The opportunities are endless. Rush Select does not promise fake opportunities like many programs in the US do. Our pathways are real, and this program helps players reach the highest levels they can.

Step 1

Rush Select Centers

The first step for being a part of Rush Select is attending one of the Centers to be seen by the Rush Select Scouts. Each Center event is designed to be a tryout of sorts where you are encouraged to attend with your entire team. Individuals are allowed to sign up too but each center is really a team event. This is designed this way so the Select staff can see the players perform their best in the most natural environment.

If you are a U13 player, your center is attending Rush Fest. For the U14-U19 age groups, there are opportunities of being seen regionally. Rush Clubs are divided up into 4 regions in the United States; Northeast, Midwest, South, and West. Each region will host a Center event where players can attend for the Select staff to evaluate them. This gives the coaches a much better picture of the players and ensures that we select the very best for each event.

The Centers are a pre-season tournament-type event that will feature games, rush way, and ID features. At the Centers, the top individual performers will be selected to join Regional Select Teams and National Select teams. The best U13-U15 players in Rush Soccer from across the United States and Canada will attend the HUB. U16-U19 top individual performers from across the globe will be invited to the Rush Select National Teams for the Presidents Day Weekend or a Spring Break Tournament.

GENERAL INQUIRIES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to Attend the Center with my team?

It is highly encouraging you to come with your team, but there will be options for individuals to register and be placed on other Rush teams attending if you cannot come with your local team.

How Can My Player Make The Select Team?

Players are scouted beginning at the Rush Fest with the U13 age group. We also take recommendations from each club’s Technical Director to form the pool of players for each age group. The U14 & U15 players will be scouted at the Centers to be selected for a regional team and then later a national team. U16-U18 players will be selected for a national first or second team. The pool of players is constantly evolving and players come and go as the team ages up. Making the Select team once does not mean a player will always be involved and players can be added to the pool at any time with a Technical Director or Scout recommendation.

Who Is Eligible to Play for a Select Team?

Any Rush player between the ages of U13 and U18 who is in good standing with their home Rush club is eligible to be selected.

Who Coaches the Select Teams?

Top Rush coaches from around the country make up our coaching staff. We currently have coaches from more than 25 clubs around the nation on our staff.

What Are The Costs Involved?

Costs vary depending on the event, but will usually be in the $400-$800 range. International trips will cost more due to airfare and length of trips, but fundraising opportunities will be provided to help offset costs for those events. There is also a limited budget for scholarships. We try to help as many players as we possibly can with our limited resources.
